Role Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and moderately experienced Accountant to manage routine accounting, taxation, and compliance functions. The candidate will be responsible for maintaining financial records, ensuring statutory compliance, and supporting client servicing with accuracy and timeliness.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Bookkeeping

  • Maintain accurate books of accounts, including journal entries, ledgers, and subsidiary records
  • Perform periodic bank, vendor, and customer reconciliations
  • Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping of financial transactions
  • Review and verify accounting entries for accuracy and completeness

GST Compliance

  • Preparation and filing of GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-2A/2B reconciliation)
  • Input Tax Credit (ITC) reconciliation and follow-up for discrepancies
  • Handling basic GST notices and departmental communications
  • Ensuring timely compliance with GST regulations

Direct Tax Compliance

  • Preparation and filing of Income Tax Returns (Individuals, Firms, and basic Companies)
  • TDS calculation, return filing (24Q, 26Q), and reconciliation with Form 26Q/26AS
  • Assistance in tax planning and computation

Financial Reporting

  • Preparation of financial statements such as Profit & Loss Account and Balance Sheet
  • Assist in monthly/quarterly MIS reporting
  • Analyze basic financial data and highlight discrepancies

Client Coordination

  • Communicate with clients for timely collection of financial data and documents
  • Address routine client queries related to accounts and taxation
  • Maintain professional relationships and ensure client satisfaction

Compliance & Audit Support

  • Ensure adherence to statutory deadlines and compliance requirements
  • Assist in internal and external audits by providing necessary data and reports
  • Maintain proper documentation for audit trails

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (B.Com or equivalent)
  • 2–5 years of relevant experience in an accounting firm or consultancy
  • Working knowledge of accounting software (Tally, Busy, or similar ERP systems)
  • Strong understanding of GST, TDS, and basic Income Tax provisions
  • Proficiency in MS Excel (formulas, data handling, basic reporting)
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational ability
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experience in a CA firm environment
  • Exposure to audit processes and compliance handling
  • Familiarity with MCA filings and ROC compliance
